The pulse of downtown Madison returns with the Madison Night Market on September 17, from 5-9 p.m. Taking over N. Carroll and W. Mifflin Streets on Capitol Square, State Street and Gilman Street, this year’s series promises a bigger, bolder celebration of the city’s urban culture. The Madison Night Market brings together iconic brick-and-mortar storefronts and the region's top makers, from State Street retailers to visiting food carts, pop-up restaurants and live music – it’s a one-of-a-kind urban street festival.

Celebrating Madison's Hispanic Heritiage
The month of September is Hispanic Heritage Month, and Madison’s Central Business Improvement District (BID) is excited to celebrate their incredible contributions to our downtown community.

Peace Park Performance Stage

5:15-6:45: Chicahuac, Madison’s Folklórico Company

Chicahuac Compañía Folklórica de Madison brings the vibrant spirit of Mexico to the stage, blending powerful choreography, dazzling regional traditions, and the unmistakable joy of Mexican folklórico. Founded in Feb 2026 in Madison, WI, Chicahuac is made up of dedicated dancers, including kids and adults, who represent the artistic latinx diversity of our region. Since our debut, we aim to share with Madison’s community our love for Mexico, leading folklórico ensembles, performing at festivals, cultural celebrations, and community events across Wisconsin. Come and enjoy vibrant dances from Veracruz, Chiapas, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas and Jalisco in collaboration with Mariachi Corcel de Madison.

7:15-8:45: Orchestra SalSoul De Madison

Salsa and Soul, Orchestra SalSoul Del Madison combines the best of two cultural worlds bringing together the fire of latin rhythm and the groove of soul, having young and old dancing in the aisle and on the ceiling. Voted best latin performer of the year by MAMA (Madison Area Music Award) as well as a 2022 and 2023, 2024, 2025 WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) award nominee.

This Orquesta is made up of some of the best local musicians representing the international diversity of Madison. We were first introduced to the public at the 2015 Latino Musical Festival and are looking to book other venues or events appropriate for a 15 piece group.

Fun for the whole family! Where State Street meets Capitol Square, you'll find the Madison Night Market Family Activity Zone, filled with a rotating slate of family-friendly activities to keep kids (and their grown-ups!) creative, active and having fun with community partners. The September 17 market will feature:

MADabolic Madison - Exercise challenges for all ages and ability levels

MSCR: Art Cart - The Art Cart is a free, traveling art program that provides creative, outdoor art-making experiences to children ages 3+ and their families. Activities include both group and individual projects, with a variety of materials.

Witte Kitty Face Painting Artistry - High-energy, kid-friendly face painting.

The Alexandra Store/ Balloon Artistry - Transform balloons into unique works of art! From animals and characters to hats, flowers, and custom creations.
