Where It Began
The story of the Wisconsin Design Team begins with four UW-Madison alums and native Wisconsinites. In 2021, these friends decided to take their shared love for the state and turn it into a business, creating apparel so everyone could wear their Wisconsin pride on their sleeves.
Historic Home
When the team searched for a permanent storefront, 417 State Street immediately stood out. The building is historically called the Hubert Schmitz Boarding House and has been home to a variety of businesses. 417 is one of the three remaining houses on State Street and a perfect home for the Wisconsin Design Team.
From humble beginnings to becoming a permanent part of the downtown Madison community, the company's journey has been incredible. The team is thrilled to be part of the vibrant life on State Street and looks forward to being a downtown destination for many years to come.
