Plenty of Parking Downtown
The City of Madison Parking Division provides more than 5,000 public parking spaces downtown, including 1,300 on-street metered spaces. Additional parking is available in county, private and university lots and ramps.

So come downtown to work, shop, dine and play. We'll help you get here and park.

City of Madison Lots and Ramps:
Open and enforced 24/7, Sundays and holidays included. Cashiered / pay station / pay-on-foot spaces accept Visa, MasterCard and cash. Rates vary per ramp from 70 cents/hr to $1.10/hr. $3 max nights & weekends. Special events: $4.00 pay-on-entry, cash or pre-paid coupon, only. Meters are cash (coins) only ($00.50 - $1.10/hr). Look for the green "P" signs.

  • Monona Terrace, One John Nolen Drive.
    Cashier-operated parking structure; enter from West Wilson Street, just south of Carroll Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, or from the eastbound lanes of John Nolen Dr.

  • Capitol Square South Ramp (Dane County Parking Ramp) 113 S. Henry St.
    Metered, enforced 24/7 including holidays. Bill changer near northeast stairwell on street level (floor 3).


University of Wisconsin Campus Parking

Public parking near east campus/downtown. (Rates effective Sept. 1, 2006. Lot restrictions, rates may vary per special event schedule).
  • Fluno Center (Lot 83), 601 University Avenue, enter off Frances St. Purchase parking from attendant, $8/day, $5 half day.

  • Grainger Hall (Lot 7), 975 University Avenue, enter off Brooks Street between University and West Johnson. $1/hr metered parking and/or lot attendant $8/day, $5 half day.

  • Helen C. White Hall (Lot 6), 600 North Park Street. Metered and/or attendant.

  • Memorial Union (Lot 1), 800 Langdon Street. $1/hr metered parking.

  • Southeast Campus Ramp (Lot 46), Johnson between Frances & Lake Streets. $1/hour metered parking available in lower level and off Frances St. entrance.
